Chicago Field Trip

Eighth grade band students from Klondike Middle School and Battle Ground Middle School enjoyed a two-day field trip exploring Chicago. About 150 students and parents enjoyed a variety of activities. The activities included visiting Shedd Aquarium, taking in music performances like The Blue Man Group and The Shout Section Big Band, as well as going to a Chicago White Sox game. The group also enjoy shopping at Water Tower Place and dining at some of the city’s favorite restaurants like Gino’s East Pizza, Hard Rock Cafe and the Berghoff.

“The trip was in part a reward for the hard work students have put in for our performance classrooms over the past years, within many outside hours devoted to practice and concerts,” says Klondike Middle School Band Director Jason Caudill. “The greatest part is  that it is an opportunity to experience cultural aspects from a great city like Chicago, from music history and performance, historical city architecture, national pastimes, to culinary traditions.”
