The Tippecanoe School Corporation has appointed a new assistant principal at Harrison High School. Phil Shabi, current principal of Fountain Central Junior/Senior High School, will replace Justin Myers, who accepted a position in another school district.

Shabi has more than 25 years of experience in education as a teacher, coach and administrator. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and a master’s degree from Arkansas State University.

“We are excited to have Phil join our team at Harrison High School,” Principal Cory Marshall says. “He brings years of exceptional leadership experience and well-rounded expertise that will support our students’ academic growth and emotional well-being as we move into the next school year. We are thrilled to welcome him to the Harrison High School family.”

After five years in administration at a small public school, Shabi says he became interested in working in a larger building and school corporation.

“Tippecanoe School Corporation is well-regarded in our area and across the state,” Shabi says. “When I saw the position was available, I was excited to apply. The interview process at both the building and corporation levels confirmed TSC would be a good fit for me both personally and professionally.”

In his role, Shabi will conduct teacher and staff evaluations, manage daily school operations and oversee student clubs and activities at the school of nearly 2,200 students.

“Families and students can expect an administrator who leads with both his head and his heart,” Shabi says. “Building trust and creating positive relationships are important to me, and I hope that is evident from day one. I enjoy being part of students’ day-to-day lives and want them to know I am approachable and will bring positivity to the building each day.”

The TSC Board of School Trustees ratified the new administrative contract at its May 13 meeting.
