The 8th grade Facs students learned about the importance of philanthropy and citizenship by making quilts for patients at the Peyton Manning Children's Hospital. The students partnered with members from the organization "Quilts for Kids" to make it a memorable community oriented project. On November 28th, the project volunteers came to the school and participated in the quilt dedication ceremony put on by the students. The students also decorated canvas quilt squares, which were signed by all as a special thank you to the volunteers. Special thanks goes to Addisen Prater for being our MC, Monica Gonzalez and Samara Evans-Russell for handing out certificates, Arin Keen and Teresa Duncan for helping with the equipment set up, and Terra Kline for writing the certificates! Many diverse, helping hands worked together to provide comfort to kids in need. I am exceptionally proud of each and every one of my students who are attached to those generous hands!
