Jodi Day

February 23, 2020!

Good evening!

A reminder that the Spring NWEA Testing schedule is coming up. March 9 Reading; March 11 Language; and March 12 Math.  Make-ups will be held between March 13-20. Please be sure your student is present unless they are sick. Try to schedule appointments around the schedule to avoid students being pulled from classes to make up the assessments.

The HHS Incoming Freshmen Dance this year is scheduled for Friday, May 1 from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm.  This is an excellent opportunity for next year's 9th graders coming from East Tipp, Klondike, and Battle Ground to meet each other and make some friends before the school year starts!  The HHS Student Council members have many activities planned to make it a fun evening for all! Dress code is casual but school appropriate. At HHS, that means no tank tops or tops that show a bare midriff. Look for a flyer to be posted to the BGM Facebook Page.

This spring, students will be participating in a statewide survey of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs use (the Indiana Youth Survey). Students in grades 6, 8 and 10 are scheduled to participate. Battle Ground Middle School will administer the survey during homeroom on March 6, 2020.  The survey will take approximately 15-20 minutes The survey is conducted by Indiana Prevention Resource Center (IPRC), School of Public Health, Indiana University-Bloomington. The information regarding the survey (i.e., sample questionnaires, reports, etc.) can be viewed at www.INYS.indiana.edu.

The purpose of the survey is to have accurate knowledge of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug usages from the youth in our community. The information will be comparable to both state and national data. The school system will get a report back that indicates usage by grade level. The outcomes of the survey assist us in planning curricula and programs to address alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use prevention.

The survey is voluntary and confidential. If you do not want your child to participate in the survey, please contact me via phone message or email. (765)269-8140 jlday@tsc.k12.in.us

A reminder to download the TSC App for alerts.  You can still access information on local school delays and closings through the news and radio.

Best of luck to our student-athletes who will be competing in events this week!  For more information on these schedules, please check out the schedule by visiting the BGM Athletic page.  Use this link: https://bgm.tsc.k12.in.us/athletics
