Good evening Tomahawk Families!

Thank you to those parents who were able to attend parent/teacher conference this past Wednesday. We did not have the turn-out we were hoping for. As a result, we will be revising our parent/teacher conference process to include appointments for the entire evening (similar to the elementary process). I will send out more information on this new process closer to the next conference date which is currently scheduled for April 12, 2018.

Reminder to parents and students that After school Homework table will be held Monday and Thursday from 2:30-3:30. Aside from those students who have accumulated 4 or more missing assignments in any one class, you can have your student stay with us after school if you notify Mr. Glynn or me with arrangements for pick up. This is a great opportunity for homework help in a quiet and structured place for all kids.

Information for 8th-grade students and Parents:

The Harrison High School (HHS) Counselors visited BGM this past week to speak with our 8th-grade students about scheduling. If your student was absent for this visit, please have them see Mrs. Jensen in the BGM Guidance Office for information.

Information regarding the Early College program at Harrison High School will be shared with interested parents and students following the main presentation during 8th grade parent night on February 13th. The Early College program at Harrison High School is through a partnership with Vincennes University. The class of 2022 will be the 2nd cohort to participate in the program.

Students who participate in the program have the opportunity to receive a 30 college credit hour certificate that will transfer credits to a public Indiana University. Students start in the program beginning their freshman year of high school taking a required Early College PCC and Digital Applications course. Our current 4-year plan is able to blend easily with your student’s graduation requirements. If you have any questions prior to the meeting, please reach out to Clay DeYoung at chdeyoung@tsc.k12.in.us.

The HHS Incoming Freshman Athlete/Parent Night is scheduled for Monday, March 12 beginning at 6:30 pm.

Take care and have a great evening!
