Learning to study is an important part of middle school. Students will need to take advantage of tools provided by their instructors. CANVAS, the TSC Learning Management System, is an excellent resource for keeping both students and parents connected to teacher-provided resources.

Attendance in class is critical for middle school success. If your student is absent, it is their responsibility to keep up with class activities and assignments. CANVAS is the best tool for finding out what was missed and your student may even be able to get assignments and complete them, even when they miss a day of school.

Read, read, read. Students in middle school are expected to be proficient readers, but practice is still a critical part of reading growth. Students can find great reading material via our school libraries, our excellent library systems (Tippecanoe County Public Libraries and the West Lafayette Public Library), as well as in teacher classrooms. Reading is part of student homework in all English/Language Arts classrooms.
